Pair it with a cold glass of milk and you've got my favourite after dinner snack.
Recipe from Smitten Kitchen
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt (I used coarse salt)
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt together and set aside. In a large bowl mix melted butter with sugars and combine well. Add vanilla and eggs, and mix until smooth and combined. Mix in dry ingredients then stir in chocolate chips.
Roll cookies into small balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes (mine took a bit closer to 15) but do not over bake. They will not look golden but will start to be starting to firm up a bit. Let cool on a wire rack to cool completely.
Awesome recipe! I have made these twice in the past week, and both times they turned out perfectly. I ran out of chocolate chips the first time, though, so used 1 cup butterscotch chips, 3/4 cup choco chips, and 1/4 cup toffee bits. They were so tasty (salty and sweet) that I intentionally made them that way the second time :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Hope you + baby + dad are doing well!
oh man! you're version sounds spectacular! I think I'm going to have to pick up some other types of chips and make them your way :)
ReplyDeleteThese are coming out of my oven right now - classic! I'm always making healthy versions of sweets, so I am excited to devour these traditional cookies unapologetically. Nom! I didn't have chocolate chips so I just chopped up a few blocks of unsweetened bakers chocolate.
